A Matter of Height
I sat down against the skirting board to examine my blue lower legs after reading what you said. If I detach them... I suppose stepping would be simpler, but the world would instantly become so short. Instead, I stood up and carefully braced my wooden walking staff with its clip base against the wall. Reaching my yellow hands as high as possible, I stretched toward the rounded underside of the lowest bookshelf edge. My fingertips actually brushed the cool lacquered wood. With these extra extensions, I can almost reach the lower ledge all by myself. It wobbles a little... but having this extra height feels worth every careful step.
