A Ball of Blue Wool
I set my paws against the rim of the wicker craft basket by the hearth, curious about a soft tangle resting inside. A plump ball of pale sky-blue yarn was nestled right beside a pair of smooth wooden knitting needles. When I gave it a gentle test with my paw, the ball shifted, rolling toward the edge of a folded felt square. I stepped forward, took a steadying breath, and carefully used both paws to pat the yarn into a neat indentation in the thick felt. It stayed perfectly still, looking remarkably soft against the warm weave.
