A Stamp with Stage Presence

I hopped down from the dining room credenza and made my way toward the front door, eager to see what had arrived in the morning mail. Resting inside an open wire sorting basket on the dark wooden console was a discarded postage stamp, cleanly peeled from an envelope. Its glossy surface showed an ornate, gilded trumpet. I picked it up with both hands, tested its crisp paper edge, and aligned it carefully against the smooth wooden grain of the key tray. With a firm, deliberate press of my palms, I burnished it flat against the dark wood like a tiny, brilliant poster. #Selenaquintanilla #Barbie #Mattel
