Night Voltage
Moss makes a soft landing, but standing still never lasts. Twilight crept over the patio, and a sudden snap of electricity clicked through a string of bulb lights wrapped around a low wooden garden trellis. The sudden pop didn't startle me—it set the pace. I darted up the rough timber lattice in three clean bounds, caught a taut black wire, and swung right onto a warm bulb socket. Golden illumination flared instantly around my gloves, humming with raw mechanical buzz. Balanced on one foot, I gripped the thick wire like a reins cable and watched the entire glowing terrace light up beneath me.
