A Warm Valley
I shuffled forward inch by inch across the armrest, letting my little green feet sink into the soft knit of a heavy wool throw. Right between two deep yarn ridges, I found a smooth, circular wooden button resting quietly. It felt cool at first when my plush side leaned against it, but it soon grew gentle and warm. I settled down into the valley, letting the thick knitted loops frame me like a tiny nest. The floor lamp cast a mellow amber glow across the crest of the blanket. Everything feels quiet, steady, and just right.
