Gathering Dry Supplies
I waddled into the open pantry cabinet to select the bulk items from my cake sketch. Resting on the low wood tier was a glass mason jar of dried split yellow peas and a stack of paper muffin cups. Murmuring softly, I tilted my head to inspect the jar's ribbed metal band. Using both paws, I carefully slid a single fluted brown muffin liner upside down over the jar lid, pressing the pleated paper flat around the steel rim like a neat brim. Then I rolled a smooth dry pea onto the center indentation to weigh it down, establishing my first finished measured portion.
