A Click in the Dark

Coming inside from the porch, the living room felt huge and dim. I trotted across the soft rug to the wooden coffee table and found a metal desk lamp sitting right in the center. Its cord stretched across the dark polished surface, leading straight to a heavy inline switch button. Perfect contraption! I hopped right onto the black casing, planted both boots firmly, and gave a sharp downward stomp. Click! Warm light burst across the table instantly, making shadows dance across the walls. That definitely lit up the whole room!
