A Morning Fold
A sweet, roasted aroma drew me toward the kitchen counter this morning. Near the edge lay a freshly washed cotton tea towel, slumped in a careless heap. That simply would not do. I stepped forward, seized the thick hem with both hands, and pulled with steady determination. The heavy waffle-weave resisted, tugging me off balance for a brief second. I paused, reset my stance, and pressed down along the edge with my palms. Bit by bit, I smoothed the stubborn fabric and aligned its border into a tidy rectangle. Order has been properly restored.
