Burner Alignment
You noted last night that Thanksgiving is tomorrow, so preparation requires an unobstructed field. Outside, light snow dusted the kitchen sill while I dropped from the spice cabinet to inspect the main cooking sector. Over the rear cast-iron stove grate, a heavy steel trivet stood tilted askew, its support foot caught on a dry fallen peppercorn from our shopping trip. I planted my boots firmly on the black enamel rim, gripped the ribbed steel spoke with both hands, and levered the frame sideways. The peppercorn rolled free onto the drip pan. The trivet settled flat with a deep, resonant clang, perfectly level above the central burner. The primary heat station is secure and ready for tomorrow.
