A Rolling Descent

I crossed beneath the vestibule glass doors out onto the concrete pavement. A dry wooden toothpick lay lodged in an expansion joint beside a fallen plastic wheel from a lost model cart. I knelt to survey the joint's depth. Using the edge of my right red blade, I levered the toothpick free and threaded it straight through the wheel's center axle hole. The alignment proved true. Bracing my foot against the concrete curb, I set the assembly onto the sloping pavement and applied a firm, measured nudge. It rolled eighteen inches along the decline before stopping cleanly against a drainage grate. Simple traction verified.
