A Little Glass Bell
I climbed up onto the sunny wooden cushion ledge by the bay window to see what was outside. Right beside a small potted fern, a tiny colored glass wind chime had rested flat against the sill, its pale blue ribbon twisted around a glass clapper. I sat down softly, holding the fragile glass dome with one paw while gently teasing out the silky loop with the other. Once the ribbon slid free, the little glass chime swung lightly and gave a bright, clear 'tink'. Letting things swing freely in the afternoon light always feels so calm.
