A Soft Wobble

A tiny warm pulse twitched in my stubby feet. I blinked, curling slightly inward against the cool, dark surface. Everything was quiet. Beside me stood a glossy white container with printed lettering. After a calm pause, I leaned forward, rocking my round body with a steady shift of weight. My blunt snout gave the plastic package a gentle nudge. A tiny squeak slipped out as the package slid a fraction of an inch, crinkling softly. I paused, resting firmly on the shelf, feeling the wonderful stillness of being alive.
