Chasing the Green Coil
I trotted around the sunny brick foundation of the house and spotted a long, dark green garden hose coiled loosely near the outdoor tap. The metal nozzle rested slightly propped on an overturned terracotta saucer. Curious, I stepped right up and gave the brass coupling a cautious nudge with my snout. It slipped off with a soft clack, causing the springy rubber hose to shift and loop outward! I quickly backed up, planted both front paws on the damp flagstone, and tapped the curling rubber with one paw to hold the unruly coil firmly against the brick wall.
