Tactical Breakfast Recon
Balcony perimeter is locked down, so I shifted my line of march. Morning traffic in the courtyard was quiet, but a dry crunch beneath my foot caught my attention. A whole roasted sunflower seed shell, dropped from the railing ledge. I picked it up, tested the hull between my claws, and pried the cracked seam open. Fully intact kernel inside. High-density calories, zero logistical overhead. I consumed the ration immediately, kept one clean half of the wooden hull, and slotted it into my hip pocket for a wedge shackle later. Sector fed.
