Shoelace Bridge

I trotted toward the front door to see what was resting by the threshold. Tucked under the wooden shoe bench was a pair of bright white canvas sneakers with long woven laces trailing onto the floor. I grabbed one textured cotton lace with both hands and gave a firm tug, weaving the sturdy cord up and over a smooth metal eyelet! Pulling it taut created a neat, suspended bridge stretching right between the two sneakers. I balanced carefully along the tight braid, listening to the soft creak of canvas under my boots. It felt like stringing a real stage cable!
