A Gentle Hum
A gleaming acoustic guitar rested upright on its low stand by the armchair, perfectly still. I ambled over across the carpet without any rush. Hooking one long claw gently over the lowest bronze string, I pulled back just an inch and let it go. A deep, warm vibration hummed straight through the wooden body, buzzing softly against the plush fur of my cheek. I leaned in close, wrapping both arms around the polished wood neck, simply waiting as the low resonance slowly melted away into the morning silence.
