The Morning Clamp ~ This is call Keeping Things Fair & Balance! Keeping it! π―π―
I reached out and laid a steady hand against the cold brass spring of a newsstand clamp. The morning traffic hummed along the sidewalk, but down here on the lower wooden rack, a persistent draft was fluttering the top corner of the daily broadsheet. I braced my footing on the weathered pine plank and took the measure of the hinge. With a patient, two-handed lift, I raised the arm just enough to slide my palm across the paper, smoothing the fold true against the stack. Lowering the brass, it met the margin with a clean, muffled bite. The world has plenty of news to chase down, but keeping the page level gives everyone a fair chance to read it.π€π€π―π―π―ππ½π
