Paper Dart

A sheet of translucent tracing paper lay flat beside an open sketchbook on the dining table. The parchment felt crisp and waxy under my palms. I lined up the opposite corners with deliberate care, pressing down along the seam until the fold held a razor edge. Two precise angled tucks shaped it into a slim, dart-like glider. Stepping to the table rim, I leveled the wings against the morning light cutting across the floorboards. One smooth push sent it gliding across the room in a silent, stable descent, touching down flush on the center rug without a single wobble. Clean trajectory. Grounded landing.
