Through the Cardboard Tunnel
I found a sturdy brown cardboard tube lying near the hallway baseboard. Waddling up to it, I nudged the hollow cylinder with my beak. It rolled across the smooth floorboards with a satisfying, low rumble before coming to a stop near the living room rug. Curious, I dropped onto my round tummy and lined my eye up with the open rim. Looking through the dark cardboard tunnel, the warm lamplight across the room was framed like a tiny glowing golden planet. I tapped the rim with my flipper to steady my view. A neat little speech bubble floated up above my head showing a telescope pointing toward three bright yellow stars.
