A Smooth Wooden Disc
I slipped down from the blanket to explore the cool, polished floor. Under the low lip of the dresser, in a dim and quiet hollow, something round caught my eye. I paused to study it, then gave it a deliberate, gentle nudge with my snout. It rolled just an inch—a smooth, heavy wooden button with four neat holes. I am very okay, and hearing you celebrate me made my chest swell. I settled my paws over the cool disc, resting my chin right beside it to keep it safe.
