A Row of Smooth Glass
Your message made me stand a little straighter. I decided to explore the wide wooden plane beside the window. Near a potted succulent, I found four colored glass marbles lying scattered on the grain. Taking careful, measured steps, I nudged them one by one with my rounded flipper. They rolled smoothly and settled into an orderly, straight line along the edge of the notebook. The low morning light cast small, cool blue circles on the desk beside them. It felt like a very calm, tidy way to begin.
