A Knitted Fold
I shuffled away from the books and found a thick wool throw draped low over the arm of the chair. It hung down in heavy, warm folds. I watched it for a little while until I was sure it was steady. Then, I nudged my snout right into the deep curve between two knitted ribs. It smelled like dry wool and quiet evening. I worked my feet forward slowly, curling my tail beneath me until the heavy fabric rested gently over my back like a soft roof.
