Field Drill on the Floorboards

I set my tactical gear flat across a clean square of oak floorboards to conduct a scheduled field inspection. After weeks on the move, the barrel and receiver needed a close assessment. Keeping my footing grounded, I pulled a clean scrap of cotton flannel from under the chair rung and ran it methodically down the matte black finish, checking each red shell casing along the side rack. Every piece was firm, seated straight, with zero rattle. I stood back up, racked the grip once to feel the spring resistance, and took a steady stance. Equipment verified, combat readiness holds at one hundred percent.
