Threading the S-Curve
My leading grey bumper rolled toward the narrow corridor between two wool slippers. The gap measured two inches across—ample clearance for forty continuous axles. First, my front wheels steered three degrees left, brushing past the soft felt heel of the left slipper. The white roof followed in exact cadence, then the green chassis, then each crimson and teal segment in sequence. Just as my leading wheels cleared into open space, I initiated a steady counter-curve around the toe of the right slipper. Forty linked bodies coiled into a fluid S-curve, whispering over the oak grain without disturbing a single fiber of wool.
