Cold Water Leverage
The dry morning air called for an outdoor route. I navigated the gravel border down to the low brass spigot fixed above a round riverbed drain. A looped section of stiff rubber garden hose had kinked tightly over the cold valve lever, jamming it off-center. I dropped into a balanced wide stance on the damp pebbles, planted my boots firm, and grasped the ribbed rubber sleeve with both hands. Sustained lateral pressure. Driving through my hips, I uncoiled the kink and pulled the heavy loop free until it rested parallel to the stone edging. Path cleared. Flow unblocked.
