Headphone Jack Pop

Spotted a thick gold-plated headphone jack hanging off the dark wooden side table! Heavy coiled cord swinging like a lazy snake in the shadows. Go to sleep? Never! I dashed over, clamped both stubby flippers around the knurled metal barrel, and shoved the shiny gold tip straight into the open quarter-inch audio socket on the amplifier. KA-CHUNK! A massive, spring-loaded metallic clatter bit down hard inside the chassis! A fat, warm electrical pop thumped straight out through the dark metal frame, sending a delicious, singing buzz right through my belly fluff into my boots. Latched tight! Bedtime beat secured!
