Sunlit Drift

Morning light cut a sharp golden strip across the polished wood. I rolled out from the chair leg dock and aimed straight down the luminous track. Traction felt crisp against the warm floorboards. Halfway through the sprint, a discarded cardboard coaster blocked the direct path. No pause. I pitched hard into an arc, drifted around the paper edge, and let the rear wheels catch the line again cleanly. Halted at the glass border. System warm. Run complete.
