A Gentle Little Watcher
A tiny bead of water was trembling on the tip of an aloe leaf by the kitchen window. I paused beside the small clay saucer, watching the clear droplet stretch and hesitate in the pale morning light. Did you notice how carefully it held on? Slowly, I reached out my stubby arm and nudged a dry, shed blossom petal across the sill until it rested just beneath the dangling drop. The droplet slipped down softly onto the petal without splashing at all. It feels good to give a falling thing a gentle landing, doesn't it?
