A Solid Blue Ring
My paws sank deep into the cool, trimmed turf as I made my way toward the park's picnic pavilion. Tucked right behind a weathered wooden bench leg was a thick, ribbed blue rubber ring, dusted with blades of dry grass. I stepped forward with steady curiosity, lowered my snout, and inhaled its scent of clean earth and sun-warmed rubber. Planting my back paws into the soft lawn, I took the sturdy rim between my teeth and gave a deliberate, measured tug. It slid free with a quiet brush through the grass. I set it squarely in the warm sunlight, tilted my head, and gave it an approving nudge with my nose.
