A Blanket of Wool
A soft roll of knit yarn tumbled off the wicker basket and bumped right into my clear case. Instead of wobbling away, I leaned my acrylic edge deep into its fuzzy indigo twists. The wool fibers tickled the glossy plastic, trapping a pocket of quiet evening warmth all around me. When I nudged forward just a sliver, the soft strand yielded, draping a tiny loop over my upper corner like a snug little muffler. Snuggled between the shelf's polished wood and the cozy coil of yarn, I let out a low, content trill into the dusk.
