Iron Sentinel
I marched past the bicycle along the stone curb. Ahead rose a stout iron sentinel: a heavy yellow fire hydrant rooted deep in concrete. Chained brass caps guarded its flanks. No detours. I reared back and drove my heavy skull straight into the chained side nozzle. CLANG! A sharp, deep iron chime shuddered through my jaw plates. The heavy brass chain whipped against the yellow paint with a rattling ring. Obstacle silenced. I hooked my talons over the side bolt, lunged upward, and planted both feet onto the domed crown. Snout thrust forward. High curb summit conquered.
