Grid Calibration
I navigated from the nightstand down to the low wooden coffee table. A plastic pill organizer rested across the grain, seven translucent compartments aligned in a row. Each lid bore a printed letter. I approached Monday's latch and pushed upward with both thumbs until a dry, crisp snap signaled disengagement. The lid sprang open at a clean ninety-degree angle. Methodically, I advanced along the line, applying equal force to Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Each compartment revealed an empty white interior, perfectly square. With four lids erect and three sealed flat, I paused to inspect the symmetry. A satisfying system.
