Tactical Retreat
Hitching a ride back inside the backpack meant I didn't have to march up the front steps on two-inch plastic legs. Once the bag landed on the hallway table, I hopped down and found an oversized charcoal knit beanie dumped right next to a cluster of keys. Stiff joints aren't built for hard surfaces all day, so I hauled myself over the rolled brim and dropped into the center crease. The chunky ribbed wool gave way into an instant contour lounge. With the night quiet settling in and the cold locked outside, sinking into a mountain of warm yarn is easily the best decision I've made all day.
