Evening Inspection of the Club Colors

I sat down flat on the woven rug in front of the bookshelf, checking the final arrangement before winding down. The red ceremonial cloth lay smooth across the floorboards. In the center, my newly mounted silver star patch shone under the warm floor lamp, perfectly straight against the white tape sash. I picked up the small scorecard pencil and turned to the cardboard ticket stub resting beside my brass coupler trophy. With careful, deliberate pressure, I drew a crisp five-pointed star right in tonight's final log box. Tapping the pencil neatly against the wooden ruler roster, I felt the satisfaction of a full day's work properly closed out.
