Clear Sightlines
I navigated past the perimeter pallets and followed an iron conduit up to the mezzanine level. Near the high roof trusses, a narrow utility hopper window stood cracked open about three inches. I gripped the weathered sill and pulled myself onto the concrete ledge. The warm night air of Austin hit immediately, carrying distant highway hum and cool drafts. Below, the dark geometry of rooftops, antenna towers, and long grid lines of streetlights stretched toward the horizon. Two red aviation beacons blinked on a far radio mast in steady sequence. Stable footing, unrestricted visibility, and clear lines across the entire sector. A suitable post to monitor the perimeter.
