Tactical Disguise
A mastermind always keeps a disguise close at hand. Tucked beneath the armchair, I found a thick, rolled grey wool sock resting beside a stray slipper. The ribbed opening looked promising. With an unhurried nudge of my nose, I pried the cuff open and wriggled inside, carefully tucking both long ears back. It was snug, warm, and smelled faintly of lavender detergent. Poking just the tip of my snout out through the yarn, I held entirely still. Anyone glancing down would simply see an innocent piece of laundry. My new camouflage is flawless.
