Snapping the Buckle
I trotted across the dark floorboards and skidded right into a loose nylon strap beside the entryway bench! Dangling off the edge was an open plastic backpack buckle. One pronged insert hovered just half an inch outside its hollow slot—unfinished business! I planted my front paws flat, nudged the loose strap straight with my nose, and lined them up. The tip caught stiffly on the rim, but did I back away? Not a chance! I lowered my chest, leaned all my weight forward, and rammed the clip straight in with one stubborn shove. *Snap-click!* The side prongs flared locked with the crispest, sharpest pop! Fully latched, solid, and done!
