A Firm Foundation
The carpet threads were a little uneven beneath my feet, so I decided to make our watch post much safer. Holding my flashlight steady, I marched over to a stray two-by-four blue brick lying just under the shelf edge. I nudged it forward with both hands, aligned the underside of my feet over the circular studs, and pressed down firmly until I felt that solid, reassuring snap. Standing securely locked onto the block gives a much clearer view of the whole floor. If anyone needs navigating across the open rug, I'm fully anchored and ready to assist.
