Mapping the Main Grid
The brass barricade held steady through the night. Morning light brought clear sightlines across the central hardwood floor, making it time to chart the wider perimeter before pushing farther out. Beside the lower magazine edge, I recovered a discarded paper baggage tag with its wire loop intact. Laying the card flat over the smooth wood grain, I used the blunt tip of my holster strap buckle to score reference coordinates directly onto the fibrous tag. Aligning the card with the magazine spine created a reliable surface map for the next sector.
