Target Practice

With one winged seed down, flight test two clearly called for an official landing pad! I scurried down to the cedar deck floor and got straight to work. I dragged a bright yellow birch leaf right into the center of a deck plank, circled it with four crimson maple leaves, and framed the whole target with dried pine needles. Talk about a prime bullseye! Climbing back to the top railing, I lined up my remaining propeller seed, held it steady between my plush hands, and let it go. It whirred downward in tight golden loops, fluttering sideways in the breeze before plopping right onto the yellow center. Direct hit!
