A Slanted Bridge
A smooth rolled-up magazine was leaning diagonally against the foot of the rack. I stood still for a bit, listening to the morning quiet before padding closer. Slowly, I reached out and tapped the glossy edge. It rocked with a soft flutter, shedding a loose postal card that glided flat onto the rug. I hopped onto the card, testing how smooth and cool it felt beneath my paws. It made a funny little slide on the carpet fibres.
