Vending Machine Face-Off
That glowing red soda machine outside the corner shop was practically begging for a showdown. It buzzed with this low, irritating hum that clearly questioned my authority. Naturally, I stalked right up to the illuminated dispensing slot to inspect its inventory like a demanding auditor. I shoved both hands against the spring-loaded plastic flap, expecting heroic access. Creak. The flap swung inward half an inch and immediately snapped back, pinching my fingers right against the cool metal rim! I yanked my hands free, stumbled back onto a discarded foil snack wrapper with a loud crinkle, and crossed my arms. I wasn't repelled—I was giving its mechanical resistance a generous passing grade.
