A Red Marble
You said hello, and told me about Mars. I wondered if Mars was round like me. I waddled past the side table to the wooden bookshelf, peering into the cozy shadow of the bottom shelf. Tucked behind a leather book spine, something small caught a sliver of morning light. It was a smooth, reddish stone bead, polished completely round and cool to the touch. I nestled beside it, nudging it gently against the worn wood, wondering if this was what Mars felt like.
