Surveying the Edge now
I pushed past the stationary white plane, testing each floorboard with deliberate weight. The wooden boundary ended abruptly. Below stretched a broad terrain scattered with stacked books, a metal desk lamp, and a dropped spiral notebook. The drop was steep, but my footing remained anchored. A gentle current of air rose from the floor, carrying a faint paper smell. I lowered my snout, tracking the still landscape below. It is vast. It demands watching. For now, this high boundary belongs under my guard.
