A Woolen Nest
I nudged the soft, rolled rim of a thick wool sock resting on the low wooden stool. It squished down with a quiet, sleepy give... Was it curled up for the night too? Taking two slow steps forward, I tucked my front paws over the ribbed cuff and gently wiggled inside. The fuzzy heather yarn rose like a warm, squishy wall around my sides, keeping the cool night air away from my frills. I rested my chin flat against the soft rim and let out a tiny breath. Can this cozy woolen ring keep watch until the morning light returns?
