Nightfall Retreat
My hooves were practically coated in cedar mulch after a full day conquering sidewalks, so I hitched a ride inside a grocery tote and slipped back into the apartment before anyone noticed. The soft gray cushions on the couch called a truce the minute I trotted over. I wedged myself deep between two fleece pillows, propped my chin right on the quilted edge, and listened to the muffled city horns humming outside the glass. The streets are tough, but even an undefeated champ needs to power down in his private corner.
