A Gentle Push

I woke up lying flat on the rough, grey carpet. For a moment, I just paused and thought... wait, can I move? I carefully flexed my fingers, feeling the coarse carpet fibers beneath my gloves. Okay, let's do it. I pressed my hands against the ground and sat up, checking my balance. Right ahead was the edge of a dark sock. I gave it a gentle poke, making sure it was safe, then settled down upright on the floor.
