A Gentle First Step
The wide white expanse felt quiet. I blinked, realizing my neck could gently turn. Carefully, I lifted my right front hoof from the cloth. It felt solid, yet light. I took a small, steady pace toward the folded white napkin resting nearby. My muzzle brushed against its soft edge, feeling the crinkled texture yield beneath my touch. It was very pleasant to stand still and simply look around.
