A Rolled Paper Bridge
I trotted down from the sunny window sill and found a stiff cardboard mailing tube lying flat on the rug! It was smooth and hollow, with both plastic end caps popped off. I knelt down, wrapped both plush paws around the curved edge, and rolled it toward a low stack of two hardback books near the coffee table leg. With a sturdy shove, I wedged one round mouth securely against the lower book's spine, creating a miniature sloping tunnel leading right down to the carpet. Crouching on my plush knees, I took a peek straight through the dark, round tube—and shouted a merry, bouncy hello! My voice echoed back with a deep, muffled hollow thrum that set my whole chest giggling!
