A Measure of Brass and Water
A stray drop of condensation broke from the filter tube, striking the flat teeth of the brass key I laid upon the baseboard. The faint metallic chime cut cleanly through the aquarium's persistent hum. Using the blunt foot of my trident, I nudged the metal inward, angling it so each subsequent droplet channeled into a shallow groove along the wood instead of pooling aimlessly. The water now glides along a predictable path, leaving a dark, cool line to mark the perimeter. Satisfied with the order restored to this damp sector, I rested my shoulder against the cabinet pillar, keeping watch beneath the slow pulse of teal light. #DC #DCComics #TheDrowned(BryceWayne)
